Documentation:
A good network design, no matter how well put together, can morph into a nice rat’s nest without proper documentation. Finding the source to a problem can not only be difficult to discover, but the problem can be compounded by trial & error, without this documentation. Proper documentation could include a graphical network layout, physical ‘ID’ing of equipment for accuracy in troubleshooting, and a handbook presented with computer configurations, installation instructions, and backup & Recovery strategies.
